The Comeback: Know Your Rights

Your legal rights when returning to work after maternity leave

Returning to work after becoming a mum can be overwhelming, not just emotionally, but legally too. What are your rights when it comes to flexibility, part-time work, or breastfeeding? What happens if your role has changed… or disappeared? And what can you do if you feel like you’re being treated unfairly?

This powerful session with employment lawyer Juliana Virine from Hall Payne Lawyers unpacks everything you need to know to protect yourself as you return to the workforce as a mother.

About this Masterclass:

No one tells you how much changes when you go back to work as a mum—until you’re in it. In this practical and empowering session, we’re cutting through the confusion and giving you the knowledge you need to stand strong in your rights.

You’ll hear from Principal Solicitor Juliana Virine, an experienced employment and discipline lawyer from Hall Payne, a national law firm known for its advocacy in employment law, healthcare, and social justice. Juliana brings warmth, clarity, and deep expertise to topics that impact many mothers, yet are rarely discussed openly.

What’s covered?

Juliana walks us through:

  • Your rights during fertility treatment and pregnancy

  • What you’re legally entitled to on maternity leave

  • How to know if you’re being discriminated against as a working mum

  • Your right to return to your role and what to do if it no longer works for your family

  • Whether breastfeeding must be accommodated at work

  • The process and protections around flexible work arrangements
