Preparing for Solo Motherhood

Feel calm, confident, and ready for the next chapter — with expert guidance made just for pregnant solo mums.

Practical. Emotional. Empowering.

Everything you need to prepare for birth, postpartum, and solo mum life — without the panic, overwhelm, or generic advice that doesn’t apply to you.

This course is for you if…

You’ve made the brave and beautiful decision to become a solo mum by choice — and now that you're pregnant, reality is setting in.

Maybe you're thinking:

  • How will I do this without a partner?

  • What do I actually need to prepare?

  • What happens if I go into labour alone?

  • How do I build a support system if it's just me?

  • What if I forget something important?

This course will help you answer those questions with confidence — and walk into birth and solo motherhood feeling prepared, supported, and proud

What you’ll learn inside the course:

You’re growing a baby — and stepping into solo motherhood at the same time.
That’s big. Beautiful. And a lot to carry on your own.

This course is your guide to preparing practically and emotionally for what’s ahead — so you’re not just “getting through it,” you’re actually feeling ready.

From solo birth planning and home setup to postpartum care and building your support network, we’ll cover everything you need to feel confident walking into this next chapter.

    • How to manage the mental load of doing this solo

    • What to expect emotionally before and after birth

    • How to calm your inner critic and feel more confident every day

    • Releasing the pressure to “do it all” perfectly

    • How to prepare for labour when you’re the only parent in the room

    • How to communicate your birth plan clearly with hospital staff

    • What to pack (and what not to), including solo-specific essentials

    • How to organise support for drop-off, pick-up, or emergencies

    • The things you’ll actually use (and the ones you won’t)

    • How to organise your home for ease and recovery

    • Creating a solo-friendly feeding, changing, and sleeping setup

    • Where to cut corners without sacrificing care

    • How to create your own village (even if you don’t have one yet)

    • Planning for the hard days when you need help

    • What to ask for — and how to ask without guilt

    • Creative ways solo mums get practical support (even with limited family nearby)

    • What the first six weeks really look like for solo mums

    • Preparing for sleep deprivation, recovery, and emotional shifts

    • How to bond with your baby without burning out

    • Building routines that work for your energy and lifestyle

What you’ll walk away with…

✔ Single and wondering whether you should try to have a baby on your own
✔ Confused about where to start or what options are even available
✔ Feeling the pressure of your biological clock — but still unsure
✔ Worried about what this path means for you, your child, and your future
✔ Ready to learn, reflect, and decide with support, not overwhelm

Learn from someone who’s lived it

I’m Alisha — Founder of Solo Mum Society, solo mum by choice, podcast host, author, professional coach and your course facilitator.

I gave birth during Melbourne’s first COVID lockdown.
There was no birth partner. No visitors. And when I brought my daughter home, there was no one walking through the door to help.

My mum couldn’t get to the country and didn’t end up meeting my daughter until she was 7 months old.
And yet — we thrived.

Not because it was easy. But because I was prepared. I’d planned ahead, set things up for myself, and figured out what I’d need to recover and care for my baby with confidence.

This course is everything I wish I’d had. Not just a checklist, but emotional preparation, support planning, and the kind of practical advice that’s actually useful when you’re doing it solo.

You don’t need a partner to feel supported. You just need a plan that works for you, and someone who gets what this journey is really like.

Let me help you feel ready.
