CONSIDERING SOLO MOTHERHOOD
Maybe you keep coming back to the idea and then talking yourself out of it again. You’ve looked at clinics or donors, wondered whether you could afford it, imagined what your life might look like with a baby and then worried about absolutely everything that could go wrong.
Maybe you’re asking yourself whether you genuinely want to do this, or whether time is making the decision feel more urgent than you’re comfortable with.
Considering Solo Motherhood gives you the information, practical tools and support to properly explore the decision — without anyone assuming what your answer should be.
You might decide yes.
You might decide not yet.
You might decide no.
The point is that the decision becomes yours, rather than something made for you by fear, your relationship status or another year passing.

Not sure if solo motherhood is right for you?
You don't need to have decided anything yet. In fact, that's exactly who this is for.

If this keeps coming back into your head, there’s probably a reason.
There isn’t one type of woman who starts considering solo motherhood.
You might be dating and wondering how much longer you want to wait for a relationship to become the way you imagined you’d have children.
You might have come out of a relationship and realised you don’t want your chances of motherhood tied to when — or whether — you meet somebody else.
You might be happily single and have realised that a partner was never actually the thing you were waiting for. Motherhood was.
Or you might be somewhere in the middle thinking: I honestly don’t know. That’s why I’m here.
And then come all the other questions.
Could I really do this on my own?
Can I afford it?
Am I too old to spend another year thinking about it?
Would my child be okay?
How do donors actually work?
What happens if I need IVF?
Who would support me?
What happens to dating afterwards?
Am I giving up on finding a partner too soon?
And maybe the hardest one of all: What if I make the wrong decision?
You do not need to know the answers before you start.
You just need somewhere to properly work through the questions.
More information isn’t always the same thing as more clarity.
You can spend months researching solo motherhood.
You can understand the difference between IUI and IVF, compare clinic fees, scroll through donor profiles, listen to podcasts, read Facebook threads and make a spreadsheet of what childcare might cost.
And still have absolutely no idea whether you actually want to do it.
Because the decision is bigger than: Can I get pregnant?
It is also:
Do I want motherhood enough to create my family differently from how I once imagined?
What might donor conception mean for my future child?
What would I need around me to make this life work?
Which of my fears are things I can plan for — and which ones are genuinely telling me this isn’t right for me?
That’s the part Google cannot decide for you.
That’s what this course is designed to help you work through.
There isn’t one “right” ending to this course.
I want to be really clear about that.
I love being a solo mum. I think it can be an incredible way to create a family.
I also know it isn’t right for every woman, and I would never want somebody to make this decision because she felt pushed by me, a fertility clinic, her age or anybody else.
At the end, your answer might be:
YES
I understand what I’m choosing and I’m ready to start taking the next steps.
NOT YET
I’m not ready now, but I know what is stopping me, what I want to do next and when I’m going to revisit the decision.
NO
I’ve explored this properly and I know this isn’t the path I want.
All three count.
What I don’t want is for another year to pass simply because the whole question felt too big to begin.
This is not a quick “should I become a solo mum?” workshop.
When I recently went back through everything that is now inside Considering Solo Motherhood, I had two reactions.
The first was: Bloody hell, this is actually a really comprehensive course.
The second was: No wonder it could feel like a lot to work through on your own.
There are eight full modules covering the decision itself, donor options, donor conception and the future child, fertility and timing, treatment and clinics, practical planning, support networks, finances, and finally bringing all of it together to work out what you want to do next.
There are also workbooks, reflection exercises, planning tools and additional resources throughout.
The information is already there.
The new Guided version is about making it easier to actually use it.
Everything you need to explore the decision properly
You do not have to watch every lesson because it exists.
Some parts will be immediately relevant to you. Others may become useful later. Some may never apply to your particular path.
The important thing is that you have the information there when you need it.
-
We start with the part that matters most — you.
What solo motherhood by choice actually means, why more women are choosing it, the fears that come up again and again, what might be on the other side of saying yes and what you can start doing even if you’re still unsure.
You’ll also work through reflection exercises around your own why, your inner voice and what life could look like if this actually works out.
-
Known donor. Recruited donor. Clinic-recruited or ID-release donor. Anonymous donation where it still exists. Egg donation. Embryo donation.
We go through what those options actually mean and how they differ, so donor choice becomes something you understand rather than another enormous internet rabbit hole.
-
This is one of the most important parts of the course.
Getting pregnant is only the beginning of donor conception.
We look at how and when to talk to children about their conception, the language you use around their story, the possible role of the donor, donor siblings, questions from other people and how you create an open and healthy family narrative.
Because the future adult you may be creating deserves to be part of the decision you’re making now.
-
Your menstrual cycle, ovulation, age and fertility, fertility testing, egg quality versus egg quantity, conditions that can affect fertility and what options may exist if using your own eggs isn’t straightforward.
This isn’t about frightening you into rushing.
It is about understanding whether there are things worth finding out while you are still deciding.
-
This is the largest reference module in the course.
It covers at-home insemination, IUI, IVF and ICSI, treatment comparisons and costs, genetic testing and IVF add-ons, choosing a fertility clinic, what to expect at your first appointment, what happens if treatment isn’t working and the emotional side of fertility treatment and the two-week wait.
You probably won’t need every lesson immediately.
It’s there so you don’t have to start from zero later.
-
What do you actually want your family life to look and feel like?
What needs to be true for solo motherhood to feel workable for you?
This module brings together your family vision and values, practical realities, emotional readiness, planning and what happens when life doesn’t follow the neat version you imagined.
-
Item descrBeing the only parent in your home does not mean you need to parent without support.
We look at the different kinds of support you may need, the fears many of us have around asking for help, your Circle of Safety, your wider village, professional support and how to begin intentionally building the people around your future family.iption
-
This is where everything comes together.
Readiness. Needing more time. Finances. Doubts. Decision-making tools. What happens next.
Not: Have I eliminated every fear?
But: Do I understand myself and this path well enough to know my next move?
And it isn’t just hours of me talking at you.
There are practical workbooks and exercises throughout the course because at some point all the thoughts bouncing around in your head need somewhere to go.
Depending on what you’re working through, you’ll have access to resources including the Reflection Journal Prompts, Ideal Average Day Workbook, Guided Dreaming Exercise, Family Vision and Values work, Circle of Safety, Village Mapping, My Village Plan, financial considerations and decision-making exercises.
You do not have to complete every worksheet because it exists.
Use the ones that help you answer your questions.
You’ll also hear from people whose perspective matters.
One of the advantages of spending years making No Need for Prince Charming is that I already have conversations sitting in the podcast library with people I would want you to hear from while you’re making this decision.
So rather than handing you another enormous podcast list and saying “good luck”, I’ll pull the most useful conversations into the program when they’re relevant.
That includes fertility specialists, a donor-conception counsellor, donor-program experts and donor-conceived adults.
The donor-conceived adult conversations are particularly important to me.
If we are intentionally considering creating a donor-conceived person, then what donor-conceived adults want prospective parents to understand should be part of the conversation before we choose a donor or begin treatment.
Choose how you want to do it

CONSIDERING SOLO MOTHERHOOD — GUIDED
Don’t want to work this out completely on your own?
Guided includes everything in On Demand, plus a 10-week supported experience to help you actually work through what you’re learning.
You’ll get a clear roadmap showing you what to focus on and when, four live facilitated sessions with me, recordings if you can’t make them live, the ability to submit questions beforehand and a private WhatsApp group with women who are also still deciding.
Not women already halfway through IVF.
Not women telling you what you should choose.
Women standing at the same crossroads.
And at the end, we bring everything together into your own YES, NOT YET or NO next-step plan.
Standard price from February: A$599
Founding Beta: A$297
Ten weeks. Four calls. Plenty of space to actually think.
You do not have 10 weeks of homework.
There is a lot inside the course because every woman’s situation is different.
The purpose of Guided is to help you know what matters now, rather than leaving you alone with a huge content library wondering where to begin.
Call 1: Where are you starting from?
We meet the cohort, talk about what has brought each of you here and identify what you most want to work through over the 10 weeks.
Call 2: What do you actually want?
By now you’ll have started looking at your values, fears, grief, expectations and the version of family life you once imagined.
This call gives us space to talk through what that has brought up.
Call 3: Working through the realities
Fertility, timing, treatment, donors, donor conception, money, support and the future child.
This is often where the questions get bigger before they start coming together.
Call 4: What happens next?
At the final session we bring all the pieces together.
You do not need to arrive with a dramatic announcement.
You leave with a YES, NOT YET or NO next step and a clearer idea of what you’re doing from here.
Can’t make every live call?
That’s okay.
I know this founding cohort runs through Christmas, school holidays and summer, and that women may be joining from different states and countries.
Every call will be recorded.
You can also submit a question before a session if you know you won’t be there, and the WhatsApp group stays open throughout the full 10 weeks.
I’d love you to come live when you can because hearing the other women’s questions is a huge part of the value.
But attendance isn’t how I’m deciding whether you’ve “done the course properly”.
I think this may be the part that changes the experience most.
There is something very different about thinking: Surely I’m the only person worrying about this…
and then hearing three other women say: Nope. Me too.
Your private WhatsApp group is only for women in your cohort.
Women who are still considering it.
Still questioning it.
Still wondering whether they are brave enough, ready enough, financially secure enough or completely mad for even thinking about it.
You can ask questions.
You can share something that came up from a lesson.
You can tell us about the fertility appointment you finally booked.
You can say absolutely nothing and quietly read until you feel ready.
I’ll be in the group throughout the 10 weeks, with clear boundaries around when I’m available so this remains sustainable for me too.
And when the program ends, I’ll hand the group over to the cohort and leave.
If you’ve found women you want to stay connected with, you don’t lose them because the course finished.
That group becomes yours.
What other women are saying:
Guided by lived experience - not theory
This course was created by a solo mum who has stood where you may be standing now — and spent years supporting thousands of women as they navigate this decision.
I know what it’s like to want a child deeply while also wanting to make the right decision — not the rushed one, not the fear-driven one.
Beyond my own journey through donor conception, fertility treatment, pregnancy, and solo motherhood, I’ve supported women across every stage of this path — from first curiosity through to early motherhood.
This course doesn’t tell you what you should do.
It gives you clarity, context, and grounded support — so you can decide with confidence and self-trust.
Support beyond the decision
For many women, clarity doesn’t end the journey — it opens it.
Once you understand what you want, it’s normal for new questions to appear.
That’s why Solo Mum Society exists as a broader support ecosystem — not just a one-off course.
Ongoing support may include:
The Bump Membership — ongoing guidance while trying to conceive or in early pregnancy
Sounding Board Sessions — one-to-one support to talk things through
Expecting Solo — structured support when pregnancy becomes your next chapter
There’s no pressure to do everything at once.
Support is here when you’re ready.
Frequently asked questions:
Is this course only for women in Australia?
No. The On-Demand Course is designed for a global audience. The Live Group Course includes more Australia-specific context (such as local costs and donor regulations), so if you’re outside Australia, the on-demand option is usually the best fit — and avoids time zone challenges.
What’s the difference between the Group and On-Demand versions?
Both cover the same core content. The Group Course ($267) offers live interaction, connection, and shared courage in a small group setting. The On-Demand Course ($167) gives you lifetime access to learn privately, at your own pace, with a broader global perspective.
How long will it take me to complete the course?
The On-Demand Course includes 8 short, practical modules that most women complete in 2–3 weeks, with lifetime access to revisit anytime. The Group Course runs across three 90-minute live sessions over three weeks.
Will this course tell me if solo motherhood is right for me?
No one else can make that decision for you. This course gives you the knowledge, tools, and emotional support to confidently decide for yourself.
Ready to take the next step?
If you’re ready to gain clarity, trust yourself, and move forward with confidence:
If you’re still unsure which option is right, a Sounding Board session can help you talk it through.
